Historians believe that snowshoes were invented over 4,000 years ago!
Don’t let deep snow hold you back from your winter treks.
Snowshoes make it easy to traverse the powder, whether you are walking or running.
Snowshoeing is the easiest winter activity to learn and master. As they say, if you can walk you can snowshoe. Snowshoeing involves walking or running over soft snow without sinking in, using a lightweight, typically-oblong platform that straps onto each of your feet. Snowshoes were once used for transportation but now are used mostly for recreation and fitness. It is a great way to use paved or less improved trails or get into back country areas when there is snow on the ground. The types of snowshoes that are used can depend on whether the terrain is flat, hilly or mountainous. If it’s a snowy winter, don’t stay inside, get out and snowshoe!
