This webinar will present an overview of the PA Outdoor Corps Program and give the audience a sense of the type, scale, and complexity of the work the Corps has the capacity to accomplish. Information will be given on the professional development aspect of the program as well as tips on how local partners can support the Corps’ work before they arrive and while on site. The audience will learn how they may gain program services in the 2020. CEUs available!

Get Outdoors PA Exchange – The Nature Place, Reading

Join us The Nature Place, home of Berks Nature, for a day packed with education, networking, and outdoor activity. Lunch is provided, please note any dietary restrictions upon registration. Event is held rain or shine, please dress for the weather.
Nature Play Zone – Berks Nature President, Kim Murphy will detail the Nature Play Zone, a space designed to allow children to explore, learn, and engage in unstructured free play in nature. We will tour the Nature Play Zone and have a chance to experience the benefits, equipment, and unique aspects of this year-round facility.
Nature Preschool – Anne Muvdi, Nature Preschool Director will discuss how Berks Nature created a successful preschool nature program and creative ways to incorporate preschool programming into your environmental education and recreation programming.
Adaptive Cycling – John Pacharis, Berks Area Mountain Bike Association member, will talk about adaptive cycling to educate and inform the audience on how they have broadened accessibility awareness and will provide recommendations for participant implementation.
We will end the day with a hike departing from The Nature Place. Please bring a reusable water bottle. Disposable containers are not permitted at The Nature Place.

2019 Pennsylvania Greenways & Trails Summits

Community, Collaboration, and Connectivity
This three-day statewide summit provides exceptional training and networking opportunities for those engaged in all aspects of trail and greenway work, including planning and economic professionals; trail and conservation staff, board, and volunteers; park professionals; local, county, and state government officials; consultants and builders; and trail enthusiasts. The summit, which will be held September 22-24, 2019 at the Shippensburg Conference Center, will offer dozens of educational sessions, mobile seminars, keynote presentations, discussion panels, and various networking opportunities.

This summit is presented by the Pennsylvania Land Trust Association with generous support through the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources.
