Fun Fact!
Rock climbing for 30 minutes burns approximately 320 calories.
For the more adventuresome, climbing puts a new perspective on the outdoors.
Learn the basics of rock climbing, safety, and equipment through instructional learning and actual climbing and rappelling.
Climbing uses your hands and feet and every part of your body in-between to ascend a steep object, like a mountainside, rock or ice formation. You get to learn how to tie a “clove hitch” and figure 8” knot before doing anything else. The instructor will teach how to climb up and repel down with control, all while an experienced person is belaying – holding the rope – on the bottom. This is a fun activity that uses strength of muscles and determination to reach the top and enjoy the view!
