Mini Grant Success Story – In Flight at the Preserve

In 2018, Silver Spring Township received a $1,500 Get Outdoors PA Mini Grant to provide opportunities for community members to discover the various bird species that inhabit the Vincent DiFilippo Nature Preserve. Silver Spring Township was able to purchase equipment including binoculars and guidebooks that were used on guided walks through the preserve to teach participants about backyard birds, waterfowl, and birds of prey.
