Take a hike or a walk!  We mean it!  Learn to select hiking shoes, follow trail markers and maybe even scramble over a few rocks in a creek.  Or find a program that will help your family become comfortable in choosing a walk in a hometown park or a land conservancy property in a different region.  Anyone can walk in a natural environment and experience the joys of connecting with greenspace.  Hiking is the most widely used way of experiencing our natural environment at any time of day or night and any time of year.  So go take a hike! Walking at a moderate pace burns for 30 minutes can burn 125 calories.

Trekking Tuesdays Hiking Series: Full Moon Hikes
Beltzville State Park
 
Get outdoors and explore the trails with the park naturalist under the full moon light at Beltzville State Park. Each hike will have a different theme and will start at a different location. Trail terrains and lengths will vary. Please wear hiking/walking shoes (No flip-flops or sandals), bring along flash lights, pack a light snack, water, and bug spray. Registration requested. September 25, 2018: Meeting at Environmental Interpretive Center to hike Pine Run Cove and Ground Pine Trails (Approximately 2.5 miles in length). October 23, 2018: Meeting at Wildcreek Trailhead to hike Christman and the Falls Trail (Approximately 3.0 miles in length).
